INDEPENDENT MEDIA

For the sake of what is left of our nation’s democracy our government must try to strengthen our national independent media systems. In a true democracy it is crucial that all citizens have access to a wide range of well formulated political positions on important issues, as well as public accountability of the political and economic powers that be.

Crucial political issues are barely covered by the corporate media, or else, often, their presentation is warped to alter public perception to benefit their closely linked economic and ideological dictates of our business-run society.

I, Vic Roberts, if elected to the U.S. Senate, will work diligently to further the cause of independent media development; I will work for user fees to be placed on commercial use of our nation’s public owned airways, with those fees being used to subsidize independent media development. Also, I would work to have appropriate government surplus equipment available to qualifying independent media organizations free of charge. I believe it is only fair, reasonable and right that the government be a contributing partner when a group of caring citizens organize for the purpose of providing a much needed public service such as furthering open communication among citizens. When citizens care enough to give freely of their time, talent, and often personal resources, without personal gain, to provide a much needed public service the least the government should do is to become a partner by contributing to needed funding.

Unfortunately, the trend of our nation’s commercial based media is to devote far more coverage to entertainment news than our government news. We Americans are far more likely to be well informed about people in the entertainment industry than we are about the conduct of our elected officials, and major issues affecting us and our nation. Why is this?

There was a time I believed that big establishment media was in business for the sole purpose of making profit dollars. I was wrong. I now believe the most important function of media ownership and control, by the organized wealth of the New World Order, which controls all of the major commercial mass media outlets, is to control media to propagandize us of the struggling masses, thus manipulating public opinion to further their interests. Profit is only a fringe benefit, the real motive behind the New World Order’s controlling interest of the mass media outlets is citizen control through propaganda manipulation.

While we citizens are being entertained on the big screen, and TV, by fictitious exploits and adventures we are also, often, being emotionally and mentally manipulated by subtle propaganda. Do I blame the highly touted performers? Absolutely not; their scripts are written for them just like it is for most campaign contribution bought and controlled puppet politicians. Also, while the highly touted media performers are entertaining, intriguing, and propagandizing us with their daring exploits of conquest, over the imaginary subversive villains on the screen, they are diverting our attention from true villains in our lives, the organized wealth of the global financial Mafia, the New World Order, those evil empire Imperial Gods of the Global Economy, those whose will it is to make proletarians of us all who are not their disciples.

To make independent media relevant for a vibrant democracy is a great challenge of our time. The road for independent media to become competitive and effective against the self-serving corporate media conglomerations, controlled by the New World Order, will be a hard road to find – but for the sake of our nation’s sovereignty and our personal freedom find it we must.

Your campaign contribution to Vic Roberts for the US Senate is an investment toward the development of a strong independent media. Your contribution is an investment toward political leadership for the common good of our citizens, and the general welfare of our great nation; representation for the demise of the New World Order’s evil empire.

In the words of a great lady, Mother Jones, "Let us pray for the dead but fight like hell for the living.”
